If you are a keen golfer, then there's another great reason for booking your stay at Braefield Guest House.
All our guests can benefit from concessionary rates at the nearby Portpatrick (Dunskey) Golf Club, Stranraer Golf Club
and the Wigtownshire County Golf Club at Glenluce.
Portpatrick Dunskey, like the area's other courses, enjoys
a temperate climate due to the Gulf Stream, allowing golf to be played all year round. There are two courses here, an 18-hole
and the Dinvin 9-hole which are a mixture of rolling moorland and seaside heath at around 150 feet above sea level.
The Wigtownshire County Golf Club is an 18-hole course
with spectacular views across Luce Bay. The excellent condition of this course combined with subtly sloping greens and changing
sea breezes provide a test of golf for both high and low handicappers.
Stranraer Golf Club is a 6,308-yard parkland course designed
by five-times Open Champion, James Braid. The course affords excellent views over the Loch to the Ailsa Craig, Arran and beyond.
